Miranda Strategies is a strategic consulting firm that specializes in helping organizations navigate the complexities of regulatory, budget and legislative policy. We are founded and led by a woman of color with leadership experience across state government including the California Energy Commission, the California Public Utilities Commission and the California Governor's Office.

As the Deputy Legislative Secretary for Governor Newsom, Hazel Miranda led the Energy, Climate, Natural Resources, and Broadband portfolio for the Governor. In that capacity, she negotiated historic budgetary and legislative priorities including the Climate package of 2022, the Energy package of 2022, and Broadband for All.

Ms. Miranda has 20 years of experience in government, deep knowledge and expertise in the executive branch of the California State Government and extensive leadership experience at the intersection of the policy and politics. She has a graduate degree from Princeton University and a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Davis.
